It’s a well-known proverb that behind every successful man there is a woman. And this saying has been the subject of much debate ever since it gained popularity. While some believe that it is a universal truth, others think it’s just another stereotyped myth.

The cliche that “there’s always a woman behind the successful man” is far from accurate. It asserts that this is true for “every,” which is a claim that cannot be supported; however if you changed “every” to “most,” then it would be accurate.

Most people succeed not by there sole hard work and determination, but by the influence and the beliefs of people that stand with him. You can’t be successful if you don’t have even one person to believe in you or to support you when you lose all your motivation. In my life, I have seen my mother supporting my father when his relatives, and the most known to him left. Even the most closed ones never trusted him that he could achieve something bigger, but my mother did.

So if you will ask me personally I would say, yes, a women is indeed behind every man’s success.

But please don’t comment and spread hate with your toxic feminist beliefs after hearing the word “behind.”

Anyways, there is one more thing that I believe is important to understand this:

Even when the successful man himself wasn’t “successful,” he “had” that great woman by his side. The great women that are referenced in this proverb are not the ones who have arrived simply to taste success. The proverb refers to women who support, sacrifice for, stand by a man’s side, inspire him, and help him “become successful” in his endeavors.

I believe that there are yin and yangs whenever something spreads. With the introduction of gender equality and women’s rights all over the world, gender saviors misinterpret this proverb. This proverb does not include women just to make them feel “included.” This is the truth you can’t change it. Yeah you can say a man is successful just by himself and same goes for the women, but I don’t believe so. Read any successful man’s story and you’ll find a women be it his mother, his sister or his wife.

To summarise, it is a fact that there is a woman supporting every successful man, and the same is true for the other way around. You require a constant companion who will encourage you and cheer you on. Of course, women are frequently the guiding light and source of inspiration for their male counterparts.
