Last Updated on July 7, 2022
We’re living in a time when hard work is glorified and is considered an indisputable means of achieving our dreams. But what if there was more to it? What if we could turn our dreams into reality without all the effort? or Does hard work guarantees success? These are the questions that surfaces when we are stagnated and struggling to find that one key to success that people talk about.
So in this article, we will try to find if hard work guarantees success or is it a myth that everyone speaks about.
Does Hard Work Guarantees Success?
No, hard work alone does not guarantee success. Whilst hard work is essential for a successful life, you will also need various other skills and attributes if you want to live the life of your dreams.
I understand that hard work is important, but it’s only important when you pour it into something worthwhile. For instance, you want to lose weight. Do you think hard work alone will make you lean and fit? No, do as much workout you want you won’t be able to lose a single pound if you’re unaware of the other factors that play around.

Like diet, which type of exercise will suit you, and deciding how many hours you will be working out. Because without these strategies your “hard work” is useless. So if you really wanna be successful in your career or anything you are planning to do, you have to work hard undeniably but with a proper strategy, and by leveraging on to something else rather than just working your ass off.
So understand that you need to do a lot more than work hard to be successful.
There are many other factors in play that together determine success. Without the right mix of these, you’re unlikely to make it big – even if you’re putting in lots of effort.
Because this would be the case then a person driving a cab all day, or a delivery guy delivering your parcel even on a public holiday would be a billionaire by now.
Why Hard Work Doesn’t Guarantees Success?
The reason why hard work does not necessarily guarantee success is that successful people have a number of skills that they use to achieve their goals.
One of the most important skills is the ability to take risks, smart work and be creative.
Creativity is one of the most important skills in today’s society because it is what drives innovation, which in turn drives economic growth.
The other reason behind this is that no matter how hard you work on a wrong thing before knowing how it should be done, there is no chance you would succeed in it.
For instance, say you prepare for a test and spend days and nights learning the chapters. On the day of the exam, all you are prepared for is what you should write, but you didn’t take a second to figure out how you should write.
This means that the result will be the same, you’ll still not be able to outperform others in the test. Because like you everyone focused on learning things.
So what would make your test different from the others? This is the reason why people who work smartly and plan their stuff beforehand tend to be more successful.
This is a big world and there are more than a billion people working way harder than you in everything.
So in order to be different, you have to be strategic in each step you take.
“I don’t believe in luck or in hard work without the so called “work smart”. It’s not all about how you work hard but it’s about how you manage your time, resources, mind to work together for a better output.”
