Complete Hanuman Chalisa Lyrics In English With Meaning
Last Updated on February 1, 2023
When I was a kid, I vividly remember the days when I used to read Hanuman Chalisa and try to memorize it whenever I visited my Nani’s house.
There was a small room painted blue and in one corner, there was a poster of Lord Hanuman with the lyrics of Hanuman Chalisa. I memorized each and every Chaupayee and there is not one Indian kid who hasn’t tried to memorize it.

For some, Lord Hanuman or Bajrang Bali is the symbol of strength and for others, he is a synonym for kindness. He is known as the destroyer of evil and is popularly introduced as “Someone who scares even Yamraj (God of death).”
In this article, I am going to share every detail about Hanuman Chalisa, its lyrics with meaning, and every question you ever had about it. So, keep reading till the end.
What is Hanuman Chalisa?
Lord Hanuman, the son of Vayu and a Hindu God, is honored in one of the most well-known devotional hymns, Hanuman Chalisa. Hanuman is short for “Lord Hanuman,” and Chalisa refers to the 40 stanzas, also known as “Chaupayees,” that make up this devotional song, excluding the Doha at the start and at the end.
Authorship of this devotional hymn to Lord Hanuman is traditionally attributed to Tulsidas, the 16th-century poet, and saint best known for penning Ramcharitmanas.
